DERMAL FILLERS FOR COLLAGEN STIMULATION
There are multiple dermal fillers that when injected into the skin stimulate collagen production. This not only improves volume, but helps with laxity and overall texture of the skin. This process is much like laying down seeds of collagen that grow over time. Types of biostimulators include Hyperdillute Radiesse, Bellafill and Sculptra.
Hyperdillute Radiesse
Radiesse is a biostimulatory dermal filler containing calcium hydroxyapatite microspheres. It is unique because it can provide volume replacement AND collagen biostimulation. In its original form, it is the thickest dermal filler on the market and is used to build structure such as cheeks, jawline, or chin. However, it can also be diluted so that it can be threaded through areas the skin to stimulate collagen and improve laxity, texture, and cellulite. Results last 12-18 months.
Bellafill
Bellafill is a biostimulatory dermal filler containing tiny polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microspheres are suspended within a base of smooth collagen gel. BELLAFILL immediately adds volume below wrinkles or atrophic acne scars to lift them to the level of surrounding skin. The PMMA microspheres provide a “scaffold” that supports the body’s own natural collagen production, replacing the collagen gel as it develops over time. Results last five or more years.
Sculptra
Sculptra is a biostimulatory dermal filler containing poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulators. Sculptra Aesthetic helps restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin to diminish facial wrinkles and improve volume loss and laxity of the skin. Results are gradual and happen over time. Multiple treatments may are usually necessary to achieve maximum results. Results last up to two years.

Collagen Stimulators: CONSULTATION & TREATMENT
Before treatment, you will undergo a thorough consultation to determine if you are a candidate for filler in these areas, or if another treatment better suits your needs. If you are a candidate for treatment and time allows, we can complete treatment on the day of your consultation. The entire process takes an hour, on average.
After the consultation and prior to injections, before photos will be taken and a topical numbing cream will be applied to minimize discomfort. Once numb, the injection process takes around 30 - 45 minutes. The majority of patients report minimal pain and are able to continue their daily activities after treatment. Swelling and bruising are the most common side effect of any dermal filler treatment and can last anywhere from 48 hours up to two weeks.
Collagen Stimulators: DOWNTIME
At your appointment, you will be given after care instructions and a follow up appointment will be scheduled to assess your results. We always educate our patients on the healing process, which lasts up to 14 days. During the initial two weeks following your injections, it is normal to experience swelling, bruising and an uneven appearance. This should subside within two weeks.
Collagen Stimulators: RESULTS
You will see minor results immediately, but because these products work with your body's natural healing process to stimulate collagen production, results will improve over time. Typically a series of treatments is recommended. Annual maintenance treatments are recommended. Longevity of results vary by products used.
